The winning project for St Laurent Square, by Wynus Bielaska, deals with the Industrial nature of the Port, more specifically, it’s vanishing industrial nature.  It is a monument to the vanishing breed of Grain Elevators…it is both poetic and functional. Three freestanding steel and glass bisected towers to one side of the street ; one bisected tower on the other side of the street; one can walk through the center of by means of catwalks while water falls from above down to 30 feet below the plaza ground on the inside surface of the tubes. Lights and misting spray activate as night falls animating the experience.
